A assignment, september light

For this photo, i used the rule of thirds placing my subjects slightly off center.  The lines on the street lead to my subject.  I used the quickmask effect and the duotone.

depth of field

to take this photo we used light reflecters to brighten half of the subjects face. the camera was in midzoom when i took this photo, focusing on the subject and leaving the background blurry

first i used the protocals and changed the image to monochrome,  then i used the clone stamp to create an even gray background.  then i duplicated the layers and blurred the surface layer, and then erased the blur around the key areas like the eyes.
